Oxycodone 15mg

Description

Oxycodone 15mg is the opioid pain medicine that sometimes called narcotic. It is an effective treatment for moderate to severe pain. However, it comes in two variations, such as immediate-release or extended-release form.

It starts working within 30 to 60 minutes and gives around-the-clock pain. But, it is not for an as-needed basis for pain. Oxycodone 15mg is for chronic pain treatment.

Important Information

Misuse of opioids may cause addiction, overdose, or death. Keep the medication in a safe place. Although, do not use the medicine if it is damaged. Also, swallow the whole pill with an adequate amount of water.

The use of oxycodone during pregnancy may cause withdrawal symptoms in the baby or fetus.

However, avoid the use of alcohol while you are on the treatment. There is appositive evidence of side effects with alcohol and other sedatives. Side effects include drowsiness or slow your breathing.

Slow breathing during the treatment is more likely to happen in elderly or ill patients, but they may also occur in any patient.

Before the use of medication

A person should not use oxycodone 15mg if he is allergic to it, or if he has:

• Chronic asthma or breathing problems; or
• blockage in the stomach or intestines.

Also, do not use it if you are already using a similar opioid medicine to treat your condition. Although, use the medication under your doctor’s guidance and follow his instructions carefully.

Tell your doctor about your medical history or if you have taken an MAO inhibitor in recent days.

Furthermore, it is not an approved medication to use in children under 18. Also, do not give therapy to children younger than 11 years old.

To make sure that the medication is safe for your health, tell your doctor if you have or ever had:

• breathing problems, sleep apnea;
• a head injury, brain tumor,
• seizures, convulsions;
• drug or alcohol addiction, or mental illness;
• lung disease, asthma;
• liver or kidney disease;
• thyroid disorder;
• adrenal disease (Addison’s disease);
• urination problems; or
• problems of gallbladder or pancreas.

By doing so, you can lessen the risk of side effects. Also, your doctor will make a proper diet for you. However, do not use any opioids without a prescription.

Dosage Information of Oxycodone 15mg

Usual Adult dosage (immediate-release)

For the use as a First Opioid Analgesic: Initial dose will be 5 to 15 mg orally at every 4 to 6 hours

Oxycodone Oral solution: take the medication as prescribed or to avoid dosing errors use the proper mg and ml.

Use: For the management of acute to chronic pain in adults. Such as pain from an injury, cancer pain, arthritis pain, or other severe pain conditions.

Usual Adult dosage for chronic pain

Extended-release (ER): 10mg tablets orally every 12 hours or capsule 9 mg orally at every 12 hours with food. However, do not use the extended-release form of oxycodone more than one time a day.

Immediate-release (IR): Oxycodone 15mg orally every 4 to 6 hours or as prescribed.
